Monument to those who died for the freedom of Lithuania in Ryliškii

The monument was built in 1930, by the initiative of local members of the Riflemen's Union. The official consecration of the monument was covered in an issue of Trimitas magazine: "On 6 July a platoon of members of the Riflemen's Union from Ryliškiai consecrated the monument, built in memory of the riflemen freedom fighters. The official ceremony was attended by General Glovakics, who welcomed the Riflemen's parade and opened the consecration ceremony. The monument was consecrated by the priest Žemaitis, parson of Ryliškiai parish, who also preached a sermon, appropriate for the occasion. It was followed by the speeches of General Glovackis, the head of the platoon and others. After the official ceremony, there was a dance evening for the Riflemen and their guests, featuring the music of the orchestra of Alytus Riflemen's Platoon."
The monument was built near the church, which was burned in the mid-1940s. The dedication, carved on the pedestal of the monument was destroyed as well. In 1989 the monument was renewed by the members of Atmintis national community.
