In the oldest, western part of Daugai, a hill covered with trees pops up, called Šventapetrius by Daugai people. It was once a mound, and later, during the time of Vytautas, it is believed that the first Daugai St. was built on it. Peter's Church. Now (since 1991) there is a tall wooden cross here, and on it is an angel protecting Daugus.
