Alytus city garden fountain

Fountains

The City Garden, famous for its roses, was opened in 1931. was formed in the very centre of Alytus. It has remained legendary to this day, in 1936. according to the project of the city engineer V. Trečioko, a fountain was installed with a pool in which goldfish swam and lilies bloomed. The idea was to place the fountain in the centre of the park so that it would be like the sun, and all the paths stretching from it would be like rays of sunlight. A squirrel humming next to the fountain makes many people smile. This fountain is one of the symbols of the city, where lovers' dates are often held, and various events take place. The fountain, as part of the City Garden, is registered in the Register of Immovable Cultural Properties.
